Why visit verification belongs next to billing
Electronic Visit Verification is not optional for most home care agencies that bill Medicaid. The 21st Century Cures Act requires states to verify personal care and home health visits electronically, and the record has to show who received the service, who delivered it, what service it was, where, on which date, and when it started and ended.
Most agencies collect that record in one system and bill in another. The visit says four hours; the authorization allows three; the claim goes out for four; the plan pays three, or nothing. Each mismatch is found after the fact, by the payer.
Zeumatic is building caregiver clock-in and clock-out into the same product that holds the patient, the authorization and the claim. A caregiver will clock in from their phone at the start of a visit and out at the end; the visit will land on the patient's record, next to the units their authorization still has left, and the claim will be built from the visits that were actually verified.
This feature is not available yet. Today, Zeumatic already runs the rest of a home care agency's billing: patient records, authorizations read by AI, personal care, homemaker, companion and respite claims sent through Availity, and payments reconciled automatically. Questions we hear
Is EVV available in Zeumatic today?
No. It is on our roadmap and not released. Everything else a home care agency bills with, from patient records to reconciled payments, is available now.
What information does an EVV record contain?
The type of service, the person receiving it, the date, the location, the caregiver providing it, and the time the visit began and ended.
Will it work with our state's EVV requirements?
Requirements and aggregators differ by state and by plan. Book a demo and tell us where you operate; we will tell you honestly what will and will not be covered.
Can we start using Zeumatic before EVV is ready?
Yes. Agencies start with records, authorizations and claims today, and clock-in will join the same records when it ships. Nothing to migrate.
Will caregivers need a separate app?
No. Clock-in is being built into Zeumatic itself, opened from the caregiver's phone browser, so there is no second system to keep in step with the patient's record.
